In The News
It's one thing to be told by clients that you've done good work. It's another to be honored by your own peers. Michael Wilkinson, the Managing Director of Leadership Strategies - The Facilitation Company, was named "Facilitator of the Year" for 2003 by the Southeast Association of Facilitators. The award honors the facilitator who contributes the most to advancing the field of facilitation over the prior 18 months.

The Southeast Association of Facilitators' purpose is to promote and improve group facilitation techniques. The Association meets bi-monthly to share facilitation experiences and advance the tools and techniques of the profession, expertise and related information about methodologies. Best Practice Tip for this Issue: Establish a Recharge Activity
Early in the session, establish a fun recharge activity that takes less than a minute to do and involves both voice and movement. For best results, let the group come up with their own re-charge. Not only will this serve as an icebreaker, it will also give the group an early introduction to group decision-making. Make it a point to use the recharge activity at least once in the morning, and as many times as necessary each afternoon.
