Leadership Strategies is a national leader in meeting facilitation, facilitator training, consulting skills, leadership skills and soft skills training for information technology professionals.

Greetings!

We hope 2005 is off to a great start for you! We've made some great plans for this year, and are excited about what we have in store for you. To start off, we expect to add several cities to our public class list. We currently teach public facilitation classes in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. We've just added Denver (see below for details), and expect to add Minneapolis, New York and Sydney this year! As we open new cities, we will be sure to keep you posted.

During the spring, we expect to announce the release of several new products, including Meetings Transformation: Declare War on Bad Meetings! We all know how deadly a bad meeting can be. This product provides a roadmap for an organization to transform its meetings by granting a set of Meeting Rights to every employee and using a combination of top-down/bottom-up strategies. Look for more information on Meetings Transformation in the May/June newsletter. (Contact Gisela Diaz 770.454.1440 x36 to schedule a workshop for your group.)

We also are completing the redesign of our website, logo and messaging. Our clients speak highly of our dynamic facilitators and the methods we use to deliver practical results. Our redesigned website and marketing materials now reflect the energy and results we bring. Let us know what you think of our new site and core messaging: "The PDI difference: Practical, Dynamic, Interactive." Click here to see how it turned out.

Finally, on a personal note, the release of my first book, The Secrets of Facilitation, this past October was met with rave reviews. Throughout 2005, I will be traveling the country giving workshops on The Secrets and doing book signings. It will be a busy year!

Best Practice Tip for this Issue: Reviewing Open Issues
At the end of a session, it is important to clear any remaining items off the Open Issues List. As you review each issue, ask these questions:

  1. Have we covered it? (If yes, move on to the next issue.)
  2. Do we need to cover it? (If no, move on to the next issue.)
  3. Do we need to cover it now? (If yes, set a time limit and facilitate the discussion. If no, move the issue to the action list.)

To learn more about reviewing open issues, register for The Effective Facilitator course! For more details, call (800) 824- 2850.

Denver Grand Opening!
We are pleased to announce that The Effective Facilitator class is now available in Denver! The class is being offered three times in 2005:

April 5-7
August 2-4
November 1-3

In celebration of our grand opening, we are offering a special promotion for the April 5th-7th class - 25% off the cost of the 3 day class or 35% off if 3 or more people enroll at the same time! The cost of the course is $1,195 so that's a savings of $300- $420 per person!

Don't miss out on this opportunity! Seats are limited and filling quickly!

  • The PDI Difference
  • PDI stands for Practical/Dynamic/Interactive. It's what sets Leadership Strategies above the rest. The PDI Difference can be seen in every aspect of what we do.

Practical Methods that Produce Results: We use proven methods and techniques in both our training classes and our facilitated sessions. Each and every session is carefully planned and executed with precision to ensure consistent results that apply to real-life situations - and produce measurable results.

Dynamic Energy that Keeps You Engaged: Our facilitators operate on "Level 3" energy so participants are engaged from beginning to end. No doodling in our sessions! We also use a wide variety of techniques to keep the interest high and be sure everyone contributes their best ideas.

Interactive - Proven Methods for Successful Integration and Application: In our facilitated sessions, our trained facilitators set people up in teams to enhance collaboration and ideas that work from every angle. In our training sessions, it's "practice, practice, practice" so participants learn by doing it themselves, by critiquing others in the class, and receiving immediate feedback from the instructor.
