Brian Cole Miller, Senior Manager

Brian cole MillerBrian Cole Miller is a team builder and facilitator who helps people work together in an open, direct and honest way. He believes that it’s a disservice to all involved when you protect them from the truth, but you also don’t have to be “brutally” honest to be effective in your relationships either.  He shows the way to achieving effective balance in communications—at work, at home, or in the community—to achieve desired results together.

His passion for helping people improve the way they relate and work with others comes through in all he does.  Everything from giving feedback to prioritizing workloads, from dealing with change to holding people accountable for results.  Brian helps teams become stronger and more effective, without them becoming dependent on him for their continued success.

With a Masters degree in Human Resources Development, and over 25 years of field experience, Brian has spoken at conferences around the world.  He has worked with large and small business, government, and not-for-profits.  He has taught at community colleges and universities.  His client experience includes:

  • Fortune 500 firms (Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Microsoft, Eddie Bauer)
  • Mid-sized firms (Comet Cleaners, Wright-Ryan Construction)
  • Labor unions (CWA—Communications Workers of America, UDWA—United Domestic Workers of America)
  • Education (The Ohio State University, NAIS—National Association of Independent Schools, California Community Colleges)
  • Government (Town of Kennebunk, ME, State of Ohio)
  • Military (US Army Corps of Engineers; US Air Force)
  • Not-for-profits (Planned Parenthood, American Red Cross).

The UPS Store/Mail Boxes Etc. designates Brian as their Organization Development/Team Builder consultant of choice.  VISA chose him to be their teambuilding spokesperson for their small-business web campaign in 2007.  Franklin Covey tapped him to write a book for them on balancing home and work life.

Brian has authored several books on teamwork that are used in businesses, schools, governments and other organizations around the world and in half a dozen languages. These include the bestseller "Quick Team-building Activities for Busy Managers" and the recent "Nice Teams Finish Last".

People enjoy working with Brian—they appreciate his insight, humor, creativity and his incredible energy.  They love the way he tailors each training, facilitation or presentation to his unique audience. Most of all, they like his focus on results. While he is certainly engaging and entertaining, these are not his primary goals.  As one recent meeting participant put it, "It is quite obvious that Brian measures his success by MY success!"
