Gene D'Ovidio's work spans a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, business services, e-commerce and specialty retailing. His clients have included Restoration Hardware, Williams-Sonoma, Sprint, Netscape Communications, US West, and numerous early stage ventures.
Gene is an expert leader of facilitated group meetings and interactive brainstorming sessions. He was formally trained by George Prince, the founder of Synectics and further mentored by Cavas Gohbi, the first President of Synectics. He has also been formally trained by Leadership Strategies and is recognized by the International Association of Facilitators as a Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF).
Gene has held positions as Managing Partner of Marketing Corporation of America (MCA), Principal at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, a worldwide management and technology consulting firm, in New York, and Senior Engineer on the corporate staff of The Stop & Shop Companies in Boston. In these roles e managed cross-functional teams and led large, multi-disciplined teams in the provision of strategic planning, business development and operations management consulting services to major U.S. corporations.
Gene earned an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Boston University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University.
He is also deeply involved with the not-for-profit community. In addition to his long-standing role as a member of the Board Marketing Committee for the SFMOMA, he has provided pro bono services to The Alvin Ailey American Dance Company, Outward Bound, UNICEF, and the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation.
